About a year and a half ago, a good friend gave me an origami box full of hand folded stars before I left for Asia. In turn, I gave these stars to people I met on my travels throughout China, the Philippines, and Mongolia.
On November 18th, the world lost one of its brightest stars, far too early in life. Kelley, the friend who gave me these stars, was killed in a senseless and tragic car accident.
She was one of the happiest and joyful people I know, and brought a smile to anyone around her. She touched more people than she could ever know. These stars are just the smallest show of what she did for others. I am thankful to have known her, her smile, her loudness, her dancing, and her kindness. So I hope you can be thankful for the people who can bring such joy into your life as well, and let them know.

Rest in peace Kelley. You are loved and will be missed.
